Born 1988, Lily grew up in Germany, America and Australia. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 2010 where she concentrated in Visual and Environmental Studies. After several internships in New York, she returned to Germany to study fiction directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg where she graduated in 2018. Her portfolio includes short films, documentaries, music videos, animation and image films. Because We Dreamt of Flying is her first feature film, which she wrote, directed and shot.

Whether whilst writing, photographing or directing, Lily's work focuses on exploring human depths and coaxing the invisible to the surface.

She's fluent in English and German and can sprinkle in a little Spanish too.

And she loves actors. So much so, that she married one. Together, they have 2 young children.

Lily is currently developing her next feature film project and teaching as a mentor for fiction directors at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
